G Ground floor

Understand the market before you put money in it.

Elevator Capital makes plain-English videos, a weekly letter and structured courses on Indian equities and F&O. It is run by financial professionals who learned the craft at Goldman Sachs, BlackRock and PhysicsWallah, and who invest and trade their own capital.

What we do

Three ways to learn, all of them built to be re-explained by you to someone else.

Watch

Explainers on what is actually moving Indian markets, seven to ten minutes each, with nothing left as jargon. First up: how the Middle East oil shock turned into Reliance's best-ever refining quarter, and whether that can last.

The Elevator Letter: one email a week on one idea worth understanding. A concept, an annual report, a market event. Short enough to finish, clear enough to repeat.

What you will learn

Five floors. Each one assumes only the floor below it.

  1. G

    Foundations

How the market works, what a share actually is, what an index measures, what the cost of money does to prices, and how to look at a chart without fooling yourself.

  2. 1

    Reading a business

Annual reports and the three statements, cash versus profit, how to judge management, and the red flags that show up in the notes before they show up in the price.

    Course
  3. 2

    Valuing a business

Earnings power, multiples and what they hide, discounted cash flow without false precision, margin of safety, and the hardest question: when to sell.

    Course
  4. 3

    Options and F&O, properly

How futures and options are priced, the Greeks in plain English, why most retail option buyers lose, defined-risk structures, and what a margin call actually is.

    Course
  5. 4

    Risk and the trader's mind

Position sizing, drawdowns, the journal, the behavioural traps that empty accounts, and how to build a process you can keep on a bad day.

How we think

Process over prediction

Nobody knows where Nifty will be in March. A good process survives being wrong. A good prediction does not.

Risk is the only thing you control

Returns are the market's to give. Position size, leverage and the decision to sit out are yours.

Investing and trading are different jobs

Owning a business for years and trading index options for days need different skills, horizons and temperaments. We teach them separately and say which is which.

If we can't explain it simply, we don't understand it

Every lesson is written so that you can re-explain it to someone else. That is the test we hold ourselves to.

What you will never get from us: stock tips, buy or sell calls, promised returns or "guaranteed" strategies. Elevator Capital is an education and content company. It is not registered with SEBI as an investment adviser, research analyst or portfolio manager, and nothing we publish is a recommendation to buy or sell anything.
